Tom gets to enjoy a quality South Dakota Pheasant hunt with good friend Steve MacKelvain from Benelli USA. Steve is also Producer/Host of Benelli's American Safari and knows a good offer when he heres one. The land they are hunting on is groomed for pheasants. Tom Knapp is on a multi state hunt hoping to bag his first ever Tom Turkey. The adventure begins at the Heartland Lodge in the beautifull hills of Pike County Illinois. Despite the hard work of guide Corey Wilkinson Tom was not able to get his Turkey. But wow what a wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate. Tom then took up an invitation from Scott Carlson of Carlson's Choke Tubes to come to Kansas and set up on a big Tom that Scott has been watching.

Tom takes us back to the market hunting days of the late 1800's and with the help of Todd and Jeryl Halter fire live shot through a replica Punt Gun. The 2in. diameter barrel 10 foot long shotgun was used by market hunters to bring as many as 100 ducks to market in a single shot. You'll learn about the guns and Tom will touch it off himself to demonstrate its power. For the other side of the story Tom is joined on a North Dakota duck hunt by Minnesota fishand game officer Rick Reller to explain how conservation laws evolved to give us the waterfowl we hunt today.
